Website analytics

We use PostHog’s EU service to count page views, visits to the book reader and contact page, and clicks to download or buy the book. The integration sends the page path, referring website, and basic browser and device information. It uses temporary identifiers in memory, without saving analytics cookies or identifiers in your browser storage. Because identifiers reset between pages, visitor counts and multi-page funnels are approximate.

We disable person profiles, session recordings, automatic interaction capture, location enrichment, and IP-address capture in analytics. Network requests still reach PostHog, as with any online service. Contact form contents, practice answers, microphone input, and page query strings or fragments are excluded from analytics. We skip analytics when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. You can also exclude this browser from analytics. This saves only an exclusion preference in browser storage, with no visitor identifier. The preference lasts until site data is cleared and applies only to this browser profile.

Contacting the author

The contact form sends the name, email address, and message you enter through FormSubmit to the author’s email inbox so the author can respond. Please avoid sharing unnecessary identifying details about children or other people.

Practice activity

Text submitted for feedback is sent to our server and to OpenAI to generate a response. The server logs the submitted text, feedback, time, model, and a hashed network address. These submissions are separate from PostHog analytics. Avoid including names, contact details, or other private information in a practice answer.

Hosting and external links

The web server keeps access and error logs needed to operate the website. Links to Amazon and X open services with their own privacy practices. PostHog, FormSubmit, and OpenAI also have their own privacy policies.

For questions about information you have submitted, contact the author.
